A Dental Extraction is the removal of a tooth or teeth from the dental alveolus in the alveolar bone. Dental Extractions occur when you have damaged teeth that end up affecting your oral health. Tooth breaks that make restoration difficult often need to be extracted. Often times, an accident can lead to the need of a dental extraction
No, you shouldn’t feel much pain following an extraction. In most cases, anesthesia is used to numb the dental area and, in most cases, the patient is put to sleep during the duration of the extraction procedure. The area of the extraction may be numb and sore for a few days, but should start healing in no time!
Add ice packs to the extracted tooth area for not more than 10 minutes on the first day only. Rest and restrict your routine for 3-4 days. Rinse your mouth with warm water and add half teaspoon of salt on the following day. Do not smoke for at least 24 hours following the procedure.
